Les Castels

La Forge de Sainte Marie is a member of the Les Castels chain which numbers 41 campsites in France. We share common values such as the preservation of our patrimony.

Les Castels began in 1959 when Georges Pilliet founded the Les Castels association with the goal of encouraging owners of chateaux and manors to open up their properties to campers in order to promote, maintain, preserve and share an endangered heritage. He thus created the first outdoor hotel chain whose main values were the setting, courtesy, comfort and tranquillity.

When staying at a Les Castels site, you are not in an ordinary place, you are invited by an owner. Veritable “guest campgrounds”, the Castels sites have preserved the art of entertaining, as each owner is intent on offering you a familial and warm reception. Each Castel's specific ambiance gives it its soul, which will envelop you throughout your stay. This soul is also based on mutual respect between the campers and the properties’ staff members. It is a shared spirit that makes it possible to showcase beauty and serenity at our campgrounds.

The tourist office

The tourist office is an information center which mission is «house, information and promotion of tourism» the territory concerned destined for the public or visitors, ranging from the simple local inhabitant, trippers and passing tourists. The objective of the structure is to facilitate tourist stay of visitors.
